Journey’s End is an adaptation of R. C. Sherriff’s play of the same name. With numerous adaptations, this remains as the excellent adaption ever as it utilizes significant power to depict real-life experiences in the dugouts of World War One. As the German march forward, war officers Osborne, Trotter, and Hibbert together with their cook use food plus the memories of their lives to forget the war experiences for some time. On the other hand, Stanhope uses whiskey to camouflage the terrible trauma. Meanwhile, a young officer Raleigh (Butterfield) arrives out of training extremely thrilled with his first assignment. To add to that, Raleigh is also excited to serve under Stanhope, who happens to be his former schoolhouse monitor and a source of affection for his sister. As panic filled the Israel government, methods to combat the situation failed and the only option remained to encounter the enemy. A rescue operation led by IDF commandos was conducted for the event that still remains as the daring and audacious rescue mission in history.
The film was presented at the 68th Berlin International Film Festival. It is based on real events that occurred in 1976. Actors Daniel Bruhl and Denis Ménochet appeared in Inglourious Basterds (2009). Movies that illustrate this historical event include Operation Thunderbolt (1977), Raid on Entebbe (1976), and Victory at Entebbe (1976).
7 Days in Entebbe (2018)

Carol (Edie Falco) his former high-school teacher has worked tirelessly to see Chris out and finally, it has happened. As Chris begins a new life, he is challenged by the new and modern world as an ex-con and a guy with an estranged relationship with his brother Ted (Ben Schwartz). Well, most of his former friends have moved on, now having better careers and families to handle. Manning up, As that prevails, Carol’s daughter Hildy (Kaitlyn Dever) befriends Chris finding a family-like relation with him. Jay Duplass and Lynn Shelton’s film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017. The film has received favorable critics, most of which praise Lynn Shelton’s role. The drama, yet suspenseful film currently leaves us with numerous questions as to what happens next in the awkward relationship depicted.
Outside In (2017)
Lean on Pete isn’t a calm film as the title may depict, but it is more interesting than you can imagine. Charley Thompson (Charlie Plummer) is a fifteen-year-old boy whose life lacks stability. He needs a real home, nice food on the table, and a good high school to attend, but that is totally a dream as he lives with a single father who also works in warehouses across the Pacific Northwest. Together, they move to Portland, Oregon in the name of finding a better life. There, Charley takes up an odd job “summer job” with a washed-up horse trainer. Charley also gets to befriend a failing racehorse called Lean on Pete. Lean on Pete is director Andrew Haigh’s adaptation of Willy Vlautin’s acclaimed novel of the same name. The film was screened at the 74th Venice International Film Festival’s main competition where actor Charlie Plummer won the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor. With an incredible cast led by the Vikings star Travis Fimmel, Andrew Haigh’s film remains an artistic film and also one with a deep meaning.
Lean on Pete (2017)

David Tennant shouldn’t be mistaken for an ordinary guy because he isn’t. From Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Mad to be Normal, Fright Night to Bad Samaritan, David Tennant crosses every limit in Bad Samaritan. The film follows a poor restaurant valet Sean Falco (Robert Sheehan) who uses the cars entrusted to him by the restaurant clientele to break into their houses as they relax in the restaurant. Unfortunately, after breaking into Cale Erendreich’s (David Tennant) home, Sean finds a wounded and tied up woman in there. Scared to be arrested and taken to jail, Sean leaves the scene without taking the woman with her and later on calls the police to report the matter. The aftermath will bring Sean to his knee as the ruthless killer won’t spare him, come what may. The drama and thriller film has an intriguing plot and of course, satisfies us at every step. Bad Samaritan could match away with numerous awards, thanks to Brandon Boyce script that was acquired by Dean Devlin’s Electric Entertainment in 2013.
Bad Samaritan (2018)
Tyler Perry’s Acrimony unravels the battle of the once faithful wife named Melinda (Taraji P. Henson). Melinda, who has been married to her husband Robert (Lyriq Bent) and fully committed to their relationship falls into shock when she learns that her husband has been living a double life. Taraji P. Henson is an icon in the Hollywood industry enlarging the influence of Black women. She has been commonly involved in defending women and empowering them for better roles and identification. The Empire star has now bounced back into action with Tyler Perry, the man behind “For Colored Girls”. Acrimony comes as Tyler’s second R rated film after “For Colored Girls” (2010). He writes and directs the film scheduled to be released this month. The Acrimony’s poster depicts four words- “Hell Hath No Fury”, a line that got us thinking about the film’s simplicity, but that’s the opposite. The beautiful, talented, and young lady will erode you from your seat in the blink of an eye. The author and actor is currently working on Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2, and Proud Mary.
Tyler Perry’s Acrimony (2018)
In the year 2045, the earth is overpopulated and various centers have become slum-like cities. Corruption, pollution, and climate change fill the earth and OASIS seems to be the escape. The OASIS world is a virtual reality, where various players get an opportunity to engage in different activities for education, work, and entertainment. Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) is an outcast who regularly logs on to the OASIS. Eventually, OASIS’ founder dies, but he leaves behind a grand opportunity that offers the winner full ownership of the OASIS and Halliday’s $500 billion fortune. To win, a player must embark on a quest to find the Easter Egg. This is Steven Spielberg’s first science fiction film since War of the Worlds (2005). The film is based on Cline’s “Ready Player One” novel of 2011. In 2010, Warner Bros. and De Line Pictures acquired the rights to the book before it was published. For the role of Art3mis, Elle Fanning, Lola Kirke, and Olivia Cooke had been considered. The film was earlier slated for the December 2017 release before it was pushed to March 2018.

Back then, he was first married to Carlotta, who later passed away. Director Arnaud Desplechin incorporates various story elements into one box, showcasing drama, comedy, and mystery. Desplechin’s films have always illustrated a different version of film aspects with “A Christmas Tale” as a vivid example. Ismael’s Ghosts premiered 2017’s Cannes Film Festival and it was also an opening film. Charlotte Gainsbourg, who stars in the film as Sylvia managed to win a Cannes Award for best actress for her role in Antichrist. Ismael’s Ghosts (2017)
Returning to cinemas is “Pacific Rim Uprising”, a sequel to 2013’s “Pacific Rim”. In the upcoming science fiction film, Jake Pentecost (John Boyega), a son of the former General, Stacker Pentecost (Idris Elba) has chosen to take a different path from his father’s legacy and is apparently caught up in a reckless life. The once calm and peaceful world now faces a new threat that will definitely bring everyone to his or her knees. Pacific Rim Uprising depicts a major monster war that involves destroying humanity and his possession. Steven S. DeKnight directs the film after Guillermo del Toro, the director of the first installment opted to direct “The Shape of Water”. Basing on the success of the first installment, director Guillermo del Toro was generally interested in a sequel and in 2014, he noted that he had been working on a script with Zak Penn. From an overview, a sequel to this year’s Pacific Rim Uprising is expected as the current director, “Steven S. DeKnight” already has an interest in the same.

The film is also Paramount Animation’s project to be entirely animated. Emily Blunt, James McAvoy, Maggie Smith, Michael Caine, Stephen Merchant, and Ozzy Osbourne are reprising their roles and also introduces Jonny Depp and Mary J. Blige. This is also the second animated film of 2018 to star Matt Lucas after Peter Rabbit (2018) released in February. The family film was earlier titled Gnomeo & Juliet (2): Sherlock Gnomes before it was changed to Sherlock Gnomes.

The film comes sixteen years after the release of Rivers and Tides, a project that acquired several nominations and won numerous awards. The documentary’s natural graphics, aided by the rare stones, creativity, leaves, snow and ice, the wind and the sun, lead to only one thing- a spectacular project. The documentary film stars Andy Goldsworthy, Holly Goldsworthy, whereas it is directed by Thomas Riedelsheimer. The trio has kept their talent and interests intact since their groundbreaking film “Rivers & Tides”, which was also a documentary. Though the upcoming film is expected to be a sequel to 2001’s Rivers & Tides, the actors haven’t confirmed so.

Alicia Vikander steps into Angelina Jolie’s shoes as Lara Croft, a role that had various front-runners like Emilia Clarke, Cara Delevingne, Daisy Ridley, and Saoirse Ronan.

Thoroughbreds is director and writer Cory Finley’s directorial debut slated for the April release. Cory’s story introduces us to two childhood friends Lily (Anya Taylor-Joy) and Amanda (Olivia Cooke) who reconnect in suburban Connecticut after numerous years of being apart. Currently, On the other hand, Amanda now possesses a sharp wit and her own kind of attitude. Initially, the pair can’t seem to get along, but are eventually bonded over Lily’s contempt for her oppressive stepfather. The film is Anton Yelchin’s final film after his death in June 2016 due to Blunt traumatic asphyxia. The film has received generally positive critics and has a fairly nice rating.
Based on one of the iconic Franco-Belgian comic book series, this family comedy film “Spirou & Fantasio’s Big Adventures”, sets off a new series of drama tales that certainly takes our breath away. The events begin with Spirou, who is a groom in a palace. He later meets Fantasio, a journalist, who is soon losing ground. Real drama sets off as the two men adventure between Europe and Africa in a search for an eccentric inventor with the help of Seccotine, who is a rival to Fantasio and Spip, a small squirrel mischievous. The film is directed by Alexandre Coffre and also written by him with the help of André Franquin. Due to the series’ popularity, several related projects have made their way to the media; that includes a video game, radio audio play adaptations, and a film.

The French Comedy and a sequel to 2016’s “Les Tuche 2” falls in cinemas this year. The earlier installment that was interesting indeed gave us a bunch of memories and that’s why we continue with the latest episode. In the former, Donal, the youngest son in the Tuche family had to leave home for his studies in the USA. Later on, the rest of the family decides to give him a surprise visit, only to spark off a series of bizarre events.
Now in the new installment, the Tuche family has finally realized the Amercian dream, but old habits die hard. Ideally, he decides so because the TGV that had to stop at Bouzolles will solely go through the village. Fortunately, he wins the election with 57% and now, Jeff Tuche must lead the country alongside his family.

However, Dr. Paul could be taking a wrong turn against the oath he swore as a doctor.
The film comes as a remake to the 1974 film of the same name and it is based on Brian Garfield novel of 1972. Several powerful Hollywood’s actors had been considered for the role of Dr. Paul, but Bruce Willis was preferred at last. It is intended to be distributed by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM).
